The Curriculum, Organization and Teaching Methods

    The Curriculum

We aim to put children at the centre of their own learning and place great emphasis not only on nurturing skills and attitudes such as resourcefulness, resilience and co-operation but also on character building. Our teachers make the national curriculum alive by making links between individual subjects and applying them to topics. Children study all subjects as set of forth in the national curriculum, which includes Mathematics, English, Science, ICT, Social Studies, Urdu and Islamiyat, apart from these core subjects, THE RIGHT SCHOOL also provides other subjects like Art and drawing and Personal, Social, Emotional Education combined with context-embedded religious education.

The school has developed an overall plan for all subjects to ensure a broad and balanced curriculum, which has continuity and progression. Each class has a scheme of work against each subject which outlines the curriculum to be covered for every term. All parents receive a termly information sheet detailing the curriculum to be covered by their children over the coming weeks.

Teaching Methods

A variety of teaching methods are used, depending upon the nature of activity and the need of the children. This may be the teaching of the whole class, differentiated group teaching, children working in pairs, one on one teaching (one teacher, one child) practical work (both inside and outside the classroom).
